Congratulations! you're getting married and it is time to think about music for your wedding, Classical Guitar is the perfect choice for the ceremony. The Guitar works well for weddings because it is not too loud, but has a very pleasing, soothing sound that produces a calming atmosphere. The Guitar is also exceptionally portable, so it can go anywhere, even on the beach if the weather is agreeable. Scott uses a battery powered amp for remote locations and small parties, and also has a full p.a. system for large groups and whenever necessary, but his hand made Spanish Guitar sounds best inside without amplification! Scott has been playing at wedding ceremonies for over 15 years and has performed in over 400, so he has vast experience and a wonderful understanding of which pieces work well in certain situations. Over the years, Scott has built up quite a repertoire of music, including everything from Renaissance Lute songs all the way to modern pieces like "Mood For a Day" by Steve Howe of the band Yes and "The Girl From Ipanema".

When Scott plays for a wedding ceremony, he arrives at the location well before the beginning and plays background music starting when the first guest arrives, he plays whatever has been picked out for the ceremony itself, and then more background music until the guests have left the area. Sometimes, if desired, Scott will also play music for the cocktail/dinner hour before the band of DJ starts..(Scott can also be your DJ with a catalog of over 90,000 songs), this makes a very nice transition into the reception. For the ceremony itself, usually Scott will play a tune for the seating of the Grandmas and Moms, something for the Bridal Party, a piece for the Flower Girl and/or Ring Bearer, the Processional for the Bride, maybe something special during the ceremony, and a Recessional. All of the musical choices, of course, depend on the particular ceremony and Scott is completely flexible and able to customize any wedding ceremony to the Bride and Grooms wishes.

Once you have made your decision to hire Scott for your wedding ceremony, he will not accept another wedding on that day, it is a very special day for you and all of his attention will be toward your ceremony. After he has been hired, contracts signed and deposit paid, Scott personally meets with his clients to plan out their ceremony music. Usually people will be coming to the Outer Banks sometime prior the wedding to get all their wedding plans together, but if this is not appropriate, Scott can have these meetings over the phone.
